SMS Message Profile

To integrate the SMS Messaging Add-On into your NetForum application, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager.

Under the Marketing module, the ‘SMS Messaging’ group item can be used to list SMS Message Tasks. An SMS Message Task is created for every message sent through NetForum; this includes individual messages such as an opt in confirmation, SMS Messages that are sent to a group of Individuals, as well as SMS Messages scheduled as a recurring task (added in the NetForum Summer 2025 Release (36)).

The SMS Message profile displays information about the SMS Message task as well as Message Details, Message Sent Statistics, and Error history.

Note: The user will only be able to modify the SMS Message if:

  • The SMS Messaging Task is not for an automated message (opt in, opt out, help).
  • The Run Task Datetime is in the future.

The SMS Message panel displays the following information:

  • SMS Description: Displays a description of the message. This is used for reporting purposes only.
  • SMS Body: Displays the body of the message that the recipient(s) will receive as a text message.
  • Run Task Datetime: Displays the start date and time when the task will run.
  • Status: This field displays the status of the task - Scheduled, In progress, Completed with error, or Successful.
  • Begin Date: Displays the starting date and time of the scheduled task. (added in the NetForum Summer 2025 Release (36))
  • End Date: Displays the ending date and time of the scheduled task. (added in the NetForum Summer 2025 Release (36))
  • Last Exec Date: Displays the last date and time that this executable task ran. (added in the NetForum Summer 2025 Release (36))
  • Next Exec Date: Displays the next date and time that this executable task will run. (added in the NetForum Summer 2025 Release (36))

The SMS Message Profile contains the following child forms under the Info tab:

    • Queued: SMS is in queue to be sent.
    • Sent: SMS sent to the recipient.

Error History Child Form

The Error History child form displays the error message sent by Twilio for every message failure.

The following error messages sent by Twilio:

1. If the number mentioned for the SMS message is not a valid number.

The Status field on the Message Detail child form will be blank for the Invalid phone number.

2. If the person is not a subscriber. If an individual replies 'stop' to opt out of SMS messaging, that message is intercepted by the network and never returned to NetForum.  These individuals will show as opted in, but the message cannot be delivered to them.  When you send an SMS message to a customer in this scenario, the error message pictured below will be returned.  Note that no phone number is listed, but you can easily identify these records as they will not have a status.  Any other records without a status will have an accompanying error with a phone number to allow you to cross-reference and determine which individuals have unsubscribed from your messaging via the keyword 'stop.'
