Add Quick Sessions

The Add Quick Session feature allows you to quickly add sessions to your event when you do not have much information about your session because your event is so far in the future. Use Add Quick Sessions when you want to quickly add multiple sessions. When you add sessions through this feature, you ensure the following:

  • You create the sessions in the database for future editing. When you first add the sessions the only two fields that are required are code and type.
  • If you enter Start Date, and Start Time, you can use Schedule Sessions to reserve initial room space.
  • You have the ability to put preliminary data in place in case you want to begin creating marketing materials in advance of your Event.

To add a Quick Session, use the following steps:

  1. Go to Modules>Event> Event Planning > Find, Query, or Add Event> Event Profile > Actions Bar and click the add sessions icon. The Add Sessions form opens.
  2. Fill in the fields according to the table below.
    Field Required? Description
    Number of transaction lines Required Enter the number of sessions you would like to add. The number of transaction lines defaults to 5, which enables you to enter initial data for 5 sessions at a time.
    code Required Enter a placeholder or an actual code if you know it at the time.
    title Optional You may want to enter placeholder titles to edit later.
    type Required Click the drop-down box to select a type. You can edit types later if you need to.
    start date Optional Click the calendar icon to select a date, or enter the date in the mm/dd/yyyy format
    start time Optional Enter time in the H:MM AM/PM format.
    end date Optional Click the calendar icon to select a date, or enter the date in the mm/dd/yyyy format
    end time Optional Enter time in the H:MM AM/PM format.
  3. Click Save to save your changes and return to the Event Profile. Click Cancel to return to the Event Profile without saving your changes.
  4. Your saved changes appear in the Event Profile under the tracks/sessions tab and the sessions child form.
  5. To add more details to each of your sessions, click the edit icon to edit the details or click the go to arrow to go to the session profile.

You must enter a start date and start time if you want the use Schedule Sessions to reserve initial room space.
