Find Accounting Period
There are multiple ways to locate a record using the Find page (for detailed methods on how to locate records, see the Find page). The Find functionality is universal throughout NetForum . The results will display in a List page, which is also universal throughout NetForum .
The Accounting Period information is stored in the database by the "columns" (fields) you selected during the Add Accounting Period and Add Fiscal Year process. Only a pre-defined set of columns pertaining to Accounting Periods will be available to you on the Find - Accounting Period page.
Find vs. Query
The Find page is setup with a pre-defined set of columns (fields) versus a Query which allows you to select from ANY column in the search Table.
To go to an Accounting Period Profile:
- Go to the Accounting module.
- In the Group Item Overflow Menu, click (or hover over) the Accounting Period group item.
- Select the Find Accounting Period group item link. The Find - Accounting Period page displays.
- On the Find - Accounting Period page, enter search criteria to find the Accounting Period Profile record and click Go. The List - Accounting Period page displays.
- On the List - Accounting Period page, click the Goto arrow
to the left of the record you wish to view. The Accounting Period Profile page displays.
In the example below, the search will be on all closed accounting periods, in the 2008 fiscal year in the AVF Business Unit..
You can also navigate to the Accounting Period Profile from the Fiscal Year Profile and the Business Unit Profile:
- Go to he Business Unit Profile.
- Go to the Fiscal Year Profile.
- On the periods child form, click the Goto arrow
on any of the records in the grandchild form to display the Accounting Period Profile.
OR
- Go to the Business Unit Profile.
- In the Fiscal Year tab, on the fiscal year child form, expand the folder icon of the appropriate fiscal year. The accounting periods grandchild form displays.
- In the accounting periods grandchild form, click the Goto arrow
of the Accounting Period you wish to display.
