About Forms

Forms are presentation containers for Objects. An object can have an unlimited number of forms. A form presents the attributes of its underlying object.

For example, the controls (fields) on a form present its object data definition to your users. Forms can have Child Forms, a Profile, Form Extensions, as well as a design layout built by the Form Designer. The NetForum framework uses the Form Metadata Model to dynamically render a form and its components.

xWeb REST resources are represented as forms in the Toolkit. See About REST Resources for more information.

Data Mapping

Form properties are stored in the md_dynamic_form metadata table.
