Appendix 2 – Changing Configurations

Appendix 2 – Changing Configurations

To change the “host” that you want your NetForum Outlook AddIn to connect to (for example, changing from a local site on your workstation IIS, to a dev or QA server, or between different local sites).

  • Uninstall your NetForum Outlook Add-In, (i.e. from your Outlook’s “Manage Add-Ins” page, NOT doing anything with the webserver install),
  • Then re-install it with a new NFEOutlook.xml containing references to the new host/site you want the NetForum Outlook AddIn to connect to.
  • Clear the cached JavaScript files on your browser. Otherwise, the locally cached JavaScript might include the add-in’s globalsettings.cs which is still pointing to the old host’s xWeb Outlook services, and all your login attempts will fail because Outlook is talking to the Add-In on the new host, but your browser is trying to pass the new host’s NetForum calls to xWeb on the old host and it fails because of cross-site scripting.

To clear the cached JavaScript on Chrome, CTRL+SHIFT+DEL and clear Cached images and files.
