Using Fundraising as a Primary Module

Using Fundraising as a Primary Module

Setting Fundraising as your primary module will load Fundraising every time you log into NetForum. Additional functionality is also available to users who have Fundraising set as their default module and belong to certain security groups within NetForum.

To use Fundraising as your primary module within NetForum, you must first set Fundraising as your primary module in your user preferences.

Once this is set, each time you launch NetForum the Fundraising module will display.

Enabling Additional Functionality

For those users who will use the Fundraising module almost exclusively, there are other features that can be enabled to enhance the functionality of this module. This additional functionality will create a Fundraising centered UI that doesn't jump between the Fundraising and CRM modules. The CRM functionality that is needed will be contained in the Fundraising module to allow for a more streamlined workflow to be established.

To enable this additional functionality, complete the following steps:

  1. Enable the CreateConstituentOnIndOrOrgAdd System Option Enabling this system option will cause a new constituent record to be created any time a new individual or organization record is added to NetForum. This eliminates the step of having to create both types of records manually.
  2. Add Users to the Fundraising User or Fundraising Manager Security Groups Adding users to one of these security groups will allow them to use the enhanced Fundraising module to its fullest capacity.

Enhanced Module Functionality

Once a user has made the Fundraising module their primary module, and the steps have been taken to enable the additional functionality, users will see the following enhancements to their Fundraising module in NetForum:

GoTo Redirect

Whenever a Goto link for an individual or organization is clicked, such as in the Contacts drop-down menu, that individual's (or organization's) Constituent Profile will open rather than their Individual Profile (or Organization Profile) from the CRM module.

Enhanced Group Items

Additional group items are available for use in the Fundraising module. These other group items access functionality found in other NetForum modules to eliminate the need to toggle between modules.

Constituent Profile

Fields and functionality from the CRM Individual Profile have been incorporated into the Constituent Profile.

The following fields and functionality have been incorporated into the Constituent Profile from the Individual/Organization Profile:

  • Outlook button - opens the Contact Information form in Outlook.
  • Word button - imports name and contact data into a Word document.
  • Name and Address Edit Links
  • Edit Contact Info
  • Phone and Fax Numbers
  • Google Maps Links
  • WealthEngine

Consolidated Transaction Buttons

Several of the donation transaction types have been consolidated under the add donation icon on the Constituent Profile.

Child Forms

Several of the child forms available on the Constituent Profile are combined to streamline usability.

In addition, several child forms available in CRM have been added to the Constituent Profile.
