Edit Merchandise Product Profile

The Edit Merchandise Product Profile allows you to manage all the information about one product. The Edit button allows you to edit product information.

This topic covers using the Edit button on the Merchandise Product Profile page.

Using the Edit Button

1. Go to Modules>Inventory > Misc. Product > Find, List, Query, or Add Misc. Product > Merchandise Product Profile. Click the Edit button. The Edit - Merchandise Product page opens.
2. Fill in the fields as described in the table below:

   Field Name	Required?	Description
   business unit	Required	Select the business unit that sells the product from the drop-down list.
   project	Optional	Select the project within the business unit that sells this product from the drop-down list. For organizations that are concerned with time and materials tracking, the project drop-down is available. Project codes are set-up through your business unit under the G/L Accounts tab on the projects child form.
   product name	Required	Enter the full name of the product.
   product code	Optional	Enter a friendly code for this product.
   start date	Optional	Select or enter the date that this product was entered into NetForum.
   end date	Optional	Select or enter the date that this product will be removed from NetForum.
   product category	Optional	Select a category for this product from the drop-down list.
   subcategory	Optional	Select a subcategory for this product from the drop-down list.
   description	Optional	Enter a product description.
   taxable flag	Optional	If your product is taxable, select this check box. Please note that if you do not select this check box, netFORUM will not allow any taxes at all to be applied to this product, not even deferrals. You are not determining how much tax is applied here, just that it can be in the future.
   track inventory flag?	Optional	Check this check box to track inventory in NetForum. The track inventory check box enables more than just Cost of Goods (COGs) accounting methods. The track inventory check box also means that an exact count of your merchandise product is now kept in your warehouse and in NetForum based on amounts you specify. You must check this check box to have NetForumdisplay the out of stock override message when an item is sold out,.
   allow partial shipments	Optional	Check this check box to allow partial shipments. Leave this check box unchecked if you do not want to allow partial shipments.
   order	Optional	Enter a number. TBD
   email template	Optional	Select an email template from the drop-down list. This is the template NetForumuses when sending an email about this product.
   commodity code	Optional	Select a commodity code from the drop-down list.
   out of stock override message	Optional	Enter the message NetForum displays in iWeb and eWeb when this product is out of stock.

3. Fill in the Send Via section as described in the table below:

   mail	Optional	Check this check box to send a confirmation message through the mail.
   email	Optional	Check this check box to send a confirmation message through email.
   fax	Optional	Check this check box to send a confirmation message to a fax number.
   microfiche	Optional	TBD
   web	Optional	TBD
   download url	Optional	TBD

4. Fill in the Web Integration section as described in the table below:

   Field Name	Required?	Description
   sell online	Optional	Check this check box to display this product in the eWeb store.
   post to web	Optional	Enter or select the date you want this product to appear on eWeb.
   remove from web	Optional	Enter or select the date you want this product to appear on eWeb.
   thumbnail	Optional	Select an already uploaded picture for the product thumbnail on eWeb. Or you can upload a new picture by clicking the add icon.
   show as new until	Optional	Enter or select the date that the product will stop being featured as new.
   online information	Optional	Enter and format (in IE only) information about this product to be displayed on the product page of eWeb.

5. Click the Save button to save your edits and return to the Merchandise Product Profile. Click the Delete button to delete this product. Click the Cancel button to return to the Merchandise Product Profile without saving your edits.

Tip: To post this product to eWeb, check the sell online check box and select today as the post to web date.

Tip: You must check the track inventory flag?to have NetForumdisplay the out of stock override message when an item is sold out.
