Add Ask Ladder
An Ask Ladder is a list of dynamic suggested donation amounts tailored to a donor’s giving patterns. Add an ask ladder when you want to offer "giving stretch goals" to multiple donors.
To complete your ask ladder, you also need to add an Ask Ladder Range, see the Add Ask Ladder Range help topic. Once you have configured the total ask ladder, the ask ladder values are displayed to each user when he or she accesses a gift in eWeb.
To add an Ask Ladder, use the following steps:
1. Go to . The Add – Ask Ladder page opens.
2. Fill in the fields as described in the table below:

| Code | Required | Enter a friendly, unique name with no white spaces. The code is how you identify the ask ladder in other parts of NetForum. |
| Description | Optional | Enter a description of the ask ladder. |
| Ask column 1 | Required | Select a statement that describes the donation that will initiate the ask ladder. NetForum chooses the largest donation of these three ask columns for each donor and then starts the ask ladder range. |
| Ask column 2 | Optional | Select a statement that describes the donation that will initiate the ask ladder. NetForum chooses the largest donation of these three ask columns for each donor and then starts the ask ladder range. |
| Ask column 3 | Optional | Select a statement that describes the donation that will initiate the ask ladder. NetForum chooses the largest donation of these three ask columns for each donor and then starts the ask ladder range. |
3. Click the Save button to save your changes and go to the Ask Ladder Profile. Click the Cancel button to clear your changes and go to the previous page.
4. Select a statement that describes the donation that will initiate the ask ladder as described in the table below:
| Selection | Description |
|---|---|
| First Gift Amount | The donor's first ever gift to your association. |
| Highest Gift Amount | The maximum amount this donor has ever given to your association. |
| Highest Gift Amount Last Year | The maximum amount this donor gave the previous year. |
| Highest Gift Amount This Year | The maximum amount this donor gave the current year. |
| Latest Gift Amount | The donor's most recent gift. |
| Last Year Amount | The sum of all the donor's gifts in the previous year. |
| Total To Date Amount | The sum of all the donor's gifts from the first ever gift to today's date. |
| Year To Date Amount | The sum of all the donor's gifts from the beginning of the current year to today's date. |
