Use this system option to control if a password entered for a xWeb User is hashed and if the password provided to the Authenticate web service must be hashed before comparing to the value in the database. The default for this option is true (selected check box).
Important! This option is ignored starting in 2014.1. Beginning with 2014.1, all xWeb passwords are hashed. If the passwords previously were not hashed, they must be re-saved so they will get hashed. If this is not done, then xWeb users will not be able to authenticate because the authentication will compare the hashed value of the password to the clear-text value, and will thus fail authentication.
Current Setting
The current setting for HashXWebUserPassword is used as follows:
Values: This system option can be set to true (selected check box) or false (cleared check box).
- true—Require the xWeb user password to be hashed (encrypted).
- false— Do not require the xWeb user password to be hashed (encrypted).
Default Value: true
Fields
This system option includes the following fields:
Description: This field gives the description of the system option, including its use and default value.

Category: This field sets the category (usually the module) where the system option is used.
Type: The Type field determines the display type of the Current setting field (check box, drop-down list, or text box).
Values: The values field indicates the allowed values for the Current setting field.

Entity Level Option?: Select this check box to make this system option available on an entity level.
Visible To External Systems?: Select this check box to make this system option available in xWeb.
